A Wellshire Wedding Full of Kindness, Selflessness, Love, and of Course, Good F-in Music
When I arrived at the Wellshire, the first thing I saw on the counter was a photo of Sam and Jack overlooking the crowd and stage at Phish at Dick’s here in Colorado. I’m not sure what year the picture was from, but I had literally been at Phish at Dick’s the night before, and going every year has become a tradition for me. They even had a bluegrass band at the reception. What a fun time. With all that being said, Sam and Jack were definitely a match for me being their Denver wedding photographer.
They met through a loving mutual friend, which they jokingly described as “the ol’ fashioned way, minus Insta DMs.” They connected over music, sports, skiing, the outdoors, and just having fun seems to be a pretty key part of who they are. They are both from Colorado and love their people deeply, and they are just as happy at a concert as they are cooking dinner together and couching it at the end of the day.
What stood out most to me on their wedding day was how naturally both of them make people feel included. That was a theme I not only heard about, but witnessed all day. They seem to have this quiet instinct for noticing when someone is standing a little outside the conversation, or just needs a little attention. They make people feel equal without making a show of it. It’s just effortless and natural with them, just like watching the leaves dance on a breezy day. That kind of selflessness and kind-heartedness is hard to fake, and it was everywhere throughout the day. I know I felt very appreciated and a equal to all.
Spending time around their families and loved ones, it was easy to see where that came from. There was so much love on both sides, and the warm buzz between everyone felt really genuine. Sam and Jack are humble, thoughtful, and selfless in a way that makes people want to be around them. That is special in one person, let alone seeing that same energy come together in two people who love each other as much as they do. To feed off each other’s gifts and grow together.
That is going to be a great sight to watch for years to come.
