Chelsea & Peter’s Colorado Engagement Session After a Very “Them” Proposal in Greece
I have known Chelsea for a long time, so when she reached out and told me she was getting married, it was pretty cool. We jumped on a FaceTime, I got to meet Peter, and it didn’t take long to see how well these two fit.
Their engagement story was an epic Greece trip that didn’t go perfectly at all, but perfectly like them.
They had originally started designing their ring back in 2023, but after a big life-changing loss in Peter’s family, their attention, of course, shifted and this took a back seat. A couple of years later, they finally took a trip to Greece they had been trying to plan for a long time. Athens was beautiful, but pretty fast-paced and chaotic. Crowds everywhere, go go go, lots to see. Not the speed they usually enjoy. Eventually they got out of Athens, found some quieter spots, and you would think this beautiful Greece trip would lead to some giant scenic proposal overlooking the blue Mediterranean.
Nope.
They were just hanging out, figuring out what they wanted to eat, whether they wanted to stay in or go out, and then Peter said “Wait!” and ran in the other room to grab something, came back and set a ring box in front of her. When she opened it, she was so surprised that it was the same ring they had been designing a few years back. He hunted down the design, which was no longer available, and found a way to make it a reality.
Did she say yes!? Not right away. Her first words were “This is the original ring!”
I really wanted to point out that this is exactly how it should go down for them. No big crowd. No epic sunset view that was probably right down the road. Just the two of them, in a regular hotel room, in the middle of this incredible trip.
There is something pretty great about that.
Their engagement session at South Valley Park had that same kind of feeling. Relaxed, easy, goofy of course, and just the two of them being themselves. That was it. Nothing overly planned. Nothing trying too hard.
I feel I say this for every wedding but, I’m really looking forward to this wedding. I love what I get to do.
