A Mountain Proposal Among the Aspens at Devil’s Thumb Ranch
I was connected with Jordan the week of his surprise proposal. His photographer had an family emergency and he needed someone that Saturday to take over. I had it open and was happy to jump in and help. Jordan put an incredible amount of thought into this proposal. At Devil’s Thumb Ranch, he led Elise up a gravel road and along a short trail to a grove of aspens with mountain views. Waiting there was a beautiful floral installation (created by The Stalk Market Florals & Things) that transformed the space into something that felt both intimate and unforgettable. I was hiding in this very clear path hoping she wouldn’t see me. They came around the corner and I could hear her joy. That was my queue. Whether she had a small suspicion that something was coming or not, nothing could have prepared her for the moment Jordan got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
After the proposal, we took a few photos and the two took time to soak it all in together with there good friends. That gave me time to roll down the road back to the Timber House at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Family members and close friends who had traveled in from out of state had gathered to celebrate with them, and I got to capture her reaction to seeing them all as she came up the stairs. Hugs, tears, laughter, and excitement. It was the perfect ending to a day that wasn’t just about a proposal, but about bringing together the people who matter most to begin the next chapter of their lives.
Congrats again Elise and Jordan!
