Evergreen Wedding Photographer | Evergreen Barn Venue
Being a Colorado wedding photographer that lives in the foothills is a life I never imagined living. Only 30 minutes through the beautiful scenic roads from my house, you’ll find a intimate venue in Evergreen, Colorado called Evergeen Red Barn.
Even though heavy rain was coming down off and on through the day, Abby and Mike were calm and collected. You could hear laughter and celebration from both the bride and groom getting ready locations. I remember the blanketed love and excitement that came from Abby and Mike’s family and friends. Everyone was truly happy to be there for them.
The rain God’s of Colorado answered. We had perfect dry weather for the 20 minute ceremony. Right after the last family photo was taken, the rain started up again. And when I say started, it came down! We were lucky there was a storage shed and a small wood structure to take cover under. After waiting a few minutes we realized that the rain wasn’t going to let up. So, with our photography timeline flooding away, we decided to improvise as seen below.

I decided to stay over under the small structure and had Abby and Mike go over with the rest of the party in the storage shed. Very thankful I had my 70-200mm lens that allowed me to zoom in and take wedding party pictures in the shed. It was a little challenging to direct them over the loud rain from a distance, but we made do. I can’t stress enough on how grateful I am to have been apart of this moment. Yes, it would have been great to us a nice location for wedding party pictures, but this was a priceless moment that I got to capture and be apart of. Abby and Mike loved and enjoyed every minute and accepted it as a part of their special day. I know I say it a lot, but I have the best clients a wedding photographer could ever ask for.
